A 501st Legion Airborne Trooper
Airborne Troopers, also known as Paratroopers, were a specialized variant of Clone Troopers in the Grand Army of the Republic. They wore advanced armor and a sensor-loaded helmet with filtration systems. As their name implies, these troopers were specifically trained and equipped to perform high-altitude drops from LAAT Gunships.
History[]
Airborne Troopers took part in the Battle of Utapau and Operation: Knightfall. Because of their apparent resourcefulness, they were called into duty on many other worlds during the Clone Wars.
Equipment[]
During the Clone Wars, Airborne Troopers wore an experimental version of the Phase: II Clone Trooper armor as well as the normal Phase: II Clone Trooper armor; each set had a bandolier, extra ammo pouches, and special helmets.
